It’s the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
The lethargy that sunk in following the enormous meals has worn off, and for many their normal Monday-Friday will return tomorrow. Most of the leftovers are gone, and the dishes have been cleaned and put away.
Every holiday, my family has a few staples and Sister Schubert rolls are always at the top of the list.
My family (like many) always has to do something a little extra with them. A ‘secret’ I’ll share with you, because it’s so simple.
When the rolls have thawed, turn the pan over, letting the rolls fall out onto some paper towels. Butter the bottom of the foil pan (or place a few slices
of butter on the bottom of the pan.
Put the rolls back in (hopefully they didn’t fall apart and you won’t have to re-piece it like a puzzle) then put a tiny piece of butter in between all the seams of the rolls then bake as directed on the bag.
When it comes to big meals (whether holiday dinners, or a family gathering) take a few shortcuts. Use these and enhance them, then soak in the praise.
(It’ll be our secret)
